Michael Semidey, DMD
Dr. Michael Semidey is a native of Palm Bay, Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Dr. Semidey then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Case Western Reserve – School of Dental Medicine in 2011. He was awarded the U.S. Army Health Profession’s Scholarship and commissioned onto active duty as a Captain. He spent nine years serving in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and received distinguished awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal. While on active duty, he completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Ft. Campbell, KY, and a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Womack Army Medical Center, Ft. Bragg, NC.
After completing his residency in 2016, Dr. Semidey’s tour of duty continued at Winn Army Medical Center, Ft. Stewart, GA, as Staff Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He was appointed Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department and promoted to Major shortly thereafter.
Near the completion of his military service, Dr. Semidey had the privilege of serving as teaching faculty for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Madigan Army Medical Center, Ft. Lewis, WA. Training and mentoring future oral and maxillofacial surgeons allowed Dr. Semidey to develop and refine his practice in the fields of orthognathic (Jaw Surgery), cosmetics, laser resurfacing, trauma, pathology resection, and maxillofacial reconstruction.
Dr. Semidey is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is passionate about combining an up-to-date, evidence-based practice with creating a comfortable and memorable patient experience.
Dr. Semidey enjoys spending his free time on activities involving functional fitness, any combination of sand, sun, and saltwater, and a newfound hobby of digital music production. He resides in Fleming Island and is excited about becoming part of the Clay County community.
