Quick, simple, and painless, Carestream's CS9600 cone beam technology provides nearly limitless 3D digital tomographic views of the patient's face and jaw structure while using less radiation than traditional medical CT technology. While a traditional X-ray is only two-dimensional, cone beam 3D software facilitates the surgical planning process, allowing our oral surgeons to achieve a full 360-degree view of the tooth and all surrounding areas.
Using a virtual 3-D model, implant placements and other restorative work can be simulated to create the ideal patient treatment plan. These virtual plans allow the surgeon to consider multiple aspects of implant placement and restoration, resulting in optimal aesthetics, function, and longevity for the patient’s final restoration. Working with a 3-D model also offers patients a better visualization of the procedure, and a preview of oral surgery will improve their smile and tooth function.
Once planning is complete, specialized software can be used to create a surgical guide that will used during implant placement. This guide directs the exact location, angle, and depth of the implant placement. Using the guide increases the accuracy, efficiency, safety, and predictability of oral surgery procedures.
